• 1 Orange
• 2 Tablespoons Cornflour
• 200ml Chicken Stock
• 150ml Orange Juice (Concentrate)
• 2 Tablespoon Rice Vinegar
• 2 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar
• 2 Teaspoons Orange Zest
• 1 Teaspoon Sesame Oil
• 3 Garlic Cloves Crushed
• ¼ Teaspoon Ground Ginger
• ¼ Teaspoon Chilli Flakes
• 500g Broccoli
• 80ml water
• 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
• 400g Rice
Take the sirloin steak and cut into small pieces.
Add the sirloin steak, 1 tablespoon of cornflour & 1 tablespoon of soy sauce into a food bag. Seal the food bag then massage the steak to ensure that all the meat is covered, place in the fridge for 30 minutes to marinate.
While the steak is marinating nicely in the fridge you can crack on with the rest of the preparation.
Combine the following in a large bowl, stir then set aside;
• 2 teaspoons orange zest
• 70ml of soy sauce
• 200ml chicken stock
• 2 tablespoon rice vinegar
• 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
• 1 teaspoon sesame oil
• 3 crushed garlic cloves
• ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
• ¼ teaspoon chilli flakes
• 1 tablespoon cornflour
Heat a large frying pan or wok. Add 500g Broccoli and 80ml water. Stir fry the broccoli for 4-5 minutes until crisp and tender. Place broccoli on a plate and leave aside.
Next heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in the frying pan. Add the sirloin steak and cook turning occasionally until golden brown. The steak should only take minutes to cook as you want the steak to be nice and tender. Once cooked remove the steak and place on a plate at the side.
Now add the sauce to the frying pan and cook until the sauce thickens should take about 4-5 minutes. Add the broccoli, steak into the frying pan and mix together.
Spoon the steak & broccoli over the rice and serve.
